About Me

John Patrick Mugumya combines twenty years of journalism experience with the structural discipline of the SaaS industry. Currently working as a technical writer, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and a Master of Arts in Technical Communication and E-Learning. He applies this dual background of narrative flow and technical precision to the analysis of public information.

The Mission

Precision in the written word. Write Right is a media analysis project focused on the mechanics of understanding. We examine how complex information is framed, written, and received.

We analyse the specific language choices that shape meaning, influence perception, and define trust. This includes word choice, attribution, structure, and the micro-editorial decisions that often pass unnoticed but carry significant weight.

The Philosophy

Analysis, not ideology. Our goal is not to question motives or argue politics. Our focus is the writing itself. We apply a rigorous standard to every piece we review, asking: Is it clear? Is it accurate? Is it proportionate? And above all, is it fair to the reader?

The Scope

Platform agnostic. Our analysis covers the full spectrum of published writing, from mainstream journalism and political reporting to sports coverage and independent platforms like Substack. We are indifferent to the outlet; we care only about how the information is presented.

The Background

A technical approach to media. The Write Right methodology is rooted in the discipline of technical writing, where clarity and precision are not stylistic choices. They are requirements.

We apply these technical standards to the broader media landscape. We are interested in how subtle language choices can quietly shift the meaning of a story, elevate specific perspectives, or introduce assumptions without evidence.

The Result

Slowing down the cycle. Write Right exists because details matter. Not because writing must be perfect, but because it must be careful. We provide a reference point for readers who want to slow down the news cycle and examine how the story was built, distinguishing between what is known, what is claimed, and what is interpretation.
